Pismo Beach Is The Best Beach

The Central Coast of California is filled with charming beach towns and communities and miles of beautiful beaches to enjoy. It is one of the most beautiful and restful areas of our state. Whether you want to just sit on the beach and watch the waves or visit any of the famous tourist attractions, it has a little something for everybody, including Ian Filippini!

If you have never been there before you can learn all about Pismo Beach and its attractions on their website at http://pismobeach.org/ . It’s a beautiful drive or, like Ian Filippini, you can take the train. The charming town has many art galleries and shops to explore in addition to great restaurants and don’t forget to check out Harry’s Night Club and Beach Bar on Cypress Street for some local flavor and a nightcap. Pismo Beach is great for a family get away or for a special time just for the two of you.

Among our many favorite places to stay is the Sea Gypsy Inn, right on the beach and we always like to have a beach front room so we can enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean from our balcony. One of the most important things to Mr. Filippini at this hotel are the the rooms are clean and comfortable and affordable and the hotel is Pet Friendly. It’s an eight minute walk to the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Odditorium and the Family Kingdom Water and Amusement Park. If you are looking for something a little fancier consider the Cottage Inn by the Sea or the Sandcastle Inn. There are many choices to meet your wishes.

You will find many favorite local restaurants for anyone’s taste and two of the most popular include the Cracked Crab on Price Street for the ultimate seafood dinner and for meat and potato lovers be sure to try F. McClintock’s Saloon and Dining House. Both have wonderful food at reasonable prices. Don’t forget to stop at the Splash Cafe on Pomeroy Avenue for outstanding Clam Chowder for lunch and to pick up some fresh sourdough bread on the way home.

If you don’t want to sit on the beach all day and would like to do a little exploring, like Ian Filippini enjoys, there are many little beach towns up and down the coast such as Shell Beach and Avalon Beach and don’t forget to check out the Monarch Butterfly Grove or the Dinosaur Caves Park. Further up the highway, but not far is the greatly popular and intriguing William Randolph Hearst Castle in San Simeon with opulently decorated rooms and a tour guide will tell you all the stories about the famous publisher and his famous Hollywood guests. You can find out more here at http://hearstcastle.org/tour-hearst-castle. Wear comfortable shoes for walking.

Pismo Beach is a popular and relaxing location and you have your choice of dining, activities and sight seeing at your door step. It may not have the hype of Huntington or Laguna Beach, but it’s quaint history and relaxing atmosphere have a special lure of their own.
